Welcome to OIKOS Norway 2025
The national conference of the Norwegian Ecological Society
We are delighted to invite you to OIKOS Norway 2025, the 7th conference of the Norwegian Ecological Society. The conference will gather researchers and students from across Norway to share ideas and discoveries in ecological research and solutions for our changing world. We will cover a diverse range of topics, including terrestrial, marine, and microbial ecology, molecular ecology, ecotoxicology, biological invasions, and nature-based solutions in Norway and beyond. Abstract submission is now open, and we warmly invite contributions from everyone.
The meeting will be organised in Bodø from 9 to 12 April 2025, with workshops and the opening reception at Nord University on 9 April, and the main conference at Scandic Havet on 10 and 11 April. Welcome!

Venue
Venue for workshops and opening reception (9 April)
The workshops and opening reception will be hosted in Noatun, the newly opened building of the Faculty of Biosciences and Aquaculture at Nord University. The building is within a two-minute walk from the main entrance of the main building. Noatun is brand new and is therefore not yet visible here on Google Maps - but you can find it on Mazemap.
Public transport and directions – Noatun (Universitetsalléen 14, 8026 Bodø) is located 10 km from the city center, but can be reached in 20 minutes with bus 1 or in 30 minutes with bus 2. Bus 2 stops right at the university ("Universitetet"), while bus 1 stops at "Studentparken" (5 minutes walk) and "Hokkåsterrassen" (3 minutes walk). A phone application for time tables and tickets Reis (Google Play or App Store) makes it easy and cheaper to take the bus. It is also possible to purchase a bus card for commutes within Bodø including Nord university campus for 24 hours, 3 days or 7 days in the Reis App, or in Sentrumsterminalen in the Bodø city centre.
Venue for the main conference (10-11 April)
The main conference will be organised at Scandic Havet in Bodø centrum, at the waterfront. It is a 10-minute walk from Bodø Train Station and 15-minute walk from Bodø Airport. See the map below for directions.
